Lady Captain's Message

Dear Members,

I honoured to be Lady Captain of our great club for 2010 and I promise to continue in the fine tradition laid down by my predecessors.

With the assistance of my talented and hard working committee, I hope we can improve the golfing experience for a much wider number of members. This is your club and its success depends on the support of all the members. Your participation in the life of the club, be it playing in the competitions, helping out on committee and sub committees, playing for the club on teams, welcoming new members and visitors or socialising in the clubhouse are all vital for the clubs preservation and progress.

Our sponsors once again have agreed to help with prizes, some of them doing so for many years, others sponsoring for the first time, I thank them most sincerely. I would really like to see more ladies entering the weekly competitions in order to acknowledge their generous sponsorship. I would also ask the members to reciprocate by supporting these sponsors in their businesses.

I thank the committee, the team captains and coordinators and all those who have and will help out in so many ways during the year, your commitment, generosity and good will are priceless.

Writing this message in the grip of the most severe winter on record, it it difficult to imagine the spring and summer which, in just a few months, will come, full of fresh hope. My wish for 2010, fine weather, enjoyable golf for all and success to all our teams.
