Local Rules

1. Out Of Bounds: Outside the boundaries of the course (defined by walls and white stakes,
white posts and wire fence). (a) Over the drain to the right of the 5th & 6th Holes when playing
these holes (defined by White Stakes). (b) Car Park (defined by White Kerbing). (c) Clubhouse
Enclosure (defined as on or over the tarmac path or on roadway which surrounds the
Clubhouse). (d) Greenkeepers Enclosure and all disturbed ground in the area thereof (defined
by White Stakes).
2. Integral Parts of the Course: Bridges, stakes and wires adjacent to the inside of boundary
walls, all Roads and Paths through the course (except the tarmac roadway crossing the 1st and
3rd Holes and right of 4th Hole).
3. Movable Obstructions: Rakes, ropes and support posts, red or yellow stakes defining
Penalty Areas.
4. Immovable Obstructions: Black and White Marker Posts, Ball Washers, Bins, Seats,
Shelters, all Distance Markers/Posts, Plastic Grids, Sleeper Steps, Timber and Concrete edges
to roads and paths, Tee Box markers, Water Fountains and their concrete bases, Concrete
Bases for grass cuttings. Water Pump and Concrete Base on the 15th Hole. Pilot House on the
3rd / 18th Hole. Gravel Band Drains, Roadway traversing the 1st and 3rd holes and right of 4th
Hole. Fixed Sprinkler Heads (see below for procedure). Relief from the above may be obtained
under Rule 16.1. Relief is not allowed to be taken under Rule 15.2. (Local Rule F-18). Fixed
Sprinkler Heads: Relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 16.1b 0r 16.1d.
In addition, if a ball lies in the General Area or on Putting Green and an immovable obstruction
on or within two club-lengths of the putting green or on the Putting Green and within two club lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may
take relief as follows: Ball in General Area (16.1b): The original ball or another ball must dropped
in the relief area that (a) is not nearer the hole, (b) affords complete relief in the General Area (c)
is not in a Penalty Area or Bunker or on the Putting Green. Ball on Putting Green (16.1d) : As for
General Area but the original ball or another ball must be PLACED on the spot of the nearest
point of complete relief either on the Putting Green or in the General Area that (a) is not nearer
the hole, and (b) is not in a Penalty Area or Bunker. (Local Rule F-5). Exception: A player may not
take relief under this local rule if interference by anything other than the immovable obstruction
makes the stroke clearly impracticable.
5. Penalty Areas (Red Stakes): Drains right of the 5th & 6th when playing these Holes and left of
the 7th, 14th, 15th & 17th holes as designated. Also in front of 14th Teeing Area extending to
edge of 13th Green.
6. Penalty Areas (Yellow Stakes): All other drains, water courses and ponds. (i.e. in front of 7th,
8th and 14th greens).
7. Ground Under Repair: All ground under repair is marked (except from time to time TOTALLY
Flooded Bunkers).
8. Green Keeper’s Cuttings: There are no Green keeper’s cuttings piled for removal in the
General Area.
9. Grass Faces of Bunkers: Grass and stacked turf faces of Sand Bunkers are deemed to be
closely mown areas and are not part of the Bunker (by Definition). 10. Limited Relief for
Embedded Ball: Free relief is only allowed when a Ball is embedded in part of the general area
that is cut to fairway height or less (Local Rule F-2.1
