Mahon’s Burn

This double dogleg par 4 requires a good teeshot to find a generous fairway but the burn beckons for anything too long on the left hand side. Beware of the false front on this green and bunker on LHS.

Pinching Fairway

The fairway gets narrower the closer you get to the green. There is a large burren that runs up the left side, starting at 250 yards and running to 320.

Bunkers

There is 1 fairway bunker at 270 yards that makes going for the green very difficult. A decision must be made whether to go for the green or layup.

Green Complex

The green is made smaller by a large fall off on the left side. There is a slope short right that will feed the ball into the heart of the green.

The world-famous golf course in Rosses Point offers an excellent challenge. The traditional links layout, designed by Harry Colt, utilises the natural contours of the dune-covered landscape rather than moving large amounts of earth during its design.
